Cuban Youth Movement for Democracy and the Eastern Democratic Alliance Carry Out Protest in Velazco


CYMD and EDA

(Holguin, September 11th 2011)- Activists from the Cuban Youth Movement for Democracy and the Eastern Democratic Alliance carried out a protest against the Castro dictatorship on this day in the city of Velazco.

Yonard Rodriguez Avila, delegate of CYMD in that neighborhood of Holguin, declared that “more than 8 activists met” in his house “and began to publicly protest against the abuses committed by the communists against the Ladies in White and other peaceful dissidents”.

After the protest, the dissidents went to the cities’ park, where they continued to express their nonconformity because of the increase of the repression in the Eastern region of the country.
